A NEPALESE .704 BRUNSWICK TYPE PERCUSSION RIFLE, no visible serial number,
circa 1860, 30in. barrel rifled with two narrow grooves, leaf rearsights and fitted with a bayonet bar at muzzle, borderline engraved back-action lock devoid of markings, brass mounted full stock, mounts include large restored brass patchbox and scroll trigger-guard with Ghurka army issue markings, complete with sling swivels and original rammer, some wear overall commensurate with use, action at fault

Provenance: This pattern of rifle was made in the Nepal state armoury and is modelled on the British first pattern Brunswick. It is estimated that 12,000 of these were produced most of which were smoothbore, rifled examples such as this are scarce.
